Our Office History
Our practice was founded in 1977, by Dr. Lamon A. Stewart. Dr. Stewart was an outstanding orthodontist in the community for many years providing services to the Greenbelt and Annapolis areas of Maryland. His ideals and continuous pursuit of excellence founded the very same principles that we practice here today.
Dr. Labbe was carefully selected by Dr. Stewart due to his strong morals and values and because he had the same orthodontic principles and philosophies as himself. They both shared a level of enthusiasm for the orthodontic profession and, as a team, complimented each other’s skills beautifully.
Dr. Labbe truly feels honored to have been selected as Dr. Stewart’s successor in Prince Georges and Anne Arundel Counties, and since 1990, Dr. Labbe has earned a reputation for providing the most skilled, patient-focused, and advanced orthodontic treatment in the area. Dr. Labbe and his team are completely committed to your comfort, health, and happiness.
Today, with four convenient locations, Dr. Labbe and his team pride themselves on receiving referrals from their patients who desire for their friends and family to enjoy the same pleasant experience and excellent results as they have had. Patient care is our utmost priority, so come and experience today what everyone else is talking about – the most advanced treatment and the impeccable attention to care that will make you smile every time – with amazing results!

Choosing Your Orthodontist
Why Should I See An Orthodontist Versus A Dentist?
Most people are aware that orthodontists are different from dentists. However, many people aren’t aware of just what those differences are.
While dentists and orthodontists both take care of your teeth, dentists perform routine dental services, such as cleaning teeth, treating cavities, and even extracting damaged teeth. Orthodontists, on the other hand, specialize in fixing tooth irregularities. While most of the time this translates to installing braces, orthodontists may also perform surgery in order to align a patient’s teeth and even, potentially, their entire jaw.
This also means that orthodontists have to have higher qualifications than dentists. Orthodontists must comply with all the requirements that dentists have to have, and they also have to have completed a post-dental school residency that can take two to three years. They also have to complete several hours of orthodontic training before they are considered fully qualified.
While orthodontists and dentists take care of different aspects of your oral health, both professions have the same goal—to make sure your teeth are healthy and strong. Check out our blog post to learn more about the differences between orthodontists and dentists.
